This Hitachi
TH-666 was made in 1959. At 4" x 2.25" x 1.25" it was the smallest
transistor radio of its time and the first truly "shirt pocket" transistor
radio made. Its clean styling put it ahead of its time. It
is made to exacting standards with a very thick plastic clear coat over
the tuning dial.
The Universal PTR-62B was made in 1962. Its styling reflects the trend toward cleaner lines and away from the funkiness of the 50s designs. This model is relatively easy to find, available in several colors. |
